Last year we launched an ambitious data platform strategy to enable our customers to take on critical challenges they face managing and harnessing the power of their data. The objective behind the platform – Hitachi Vantara Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) – was to move beyond the status quo that led to unprecedented data sprawl and set the stage for a new era of data driven, hybrid cloud innovation. And replace it with a single, centralized, scalable foundational solution to store, access, manage and secure our customers’ data, regardless of location, format or associated application.
Over the following months, we shipped the first of what would become a broad range of products under the VSP One banner. These included VSP One Block, offering unparalleled performance, scalability and sustainability in a user-friendly package, designed for mid-size organizations where downtime or disruptions are not an option. VSP One File followed soon after, along with VSP One SDS, a software-designed storage solution that separates storage management from hardware limitations. Ideal for organizations where seamlessly moving data between on-prem and cloud infrastructure are both top of mind.
All of these solutions leveraged the power of a single unified data fabric, a single control plane, and a single data plane. Giving customers the critical capability to break down silos, providing a unified data experience across increasingly distributed hybrid and complicated multicloud application environments.
Customer response and results were extremely positive. And more importantly, we were just getting started.
Introducing VSP One with All-QLC Flash
Our new all-QLC (quad-level cell) flash array is significant for a large number of enterprise users and workloads, offering higher density and lower power consumption (and accompanying carbon emissions) vs. traditional solutions. This makes it highly cost-effective for large-scale data storage. Dual port QLC media ensures data access even in the event of failure, enhancing uptime and reliability. Integrated public cloud replication allows seamless backup and disaster recovery, ensuring data availability and integrity.
QLC also reduces cost per gigabyte, making it more economical without any sacrifice in performance.
But Wait, There’s More: Introducing VSP One Object
The next new addition to the Virtual Storage Platform One portfolio is VSP One Object, our intuitive new storage appliance engineered for scalability, capable of managing vast amounts of unstructured data, including images, videos and other large datasets. Objects are stored with rich metadata, facilitating easier categorization, searchability and management, making it ideal for industries such as media, healthcare and finance, where managing large datasets efficiently is essential.
VSP One Object combines durability and reliability with multi-node configurations that ensure data availability and integrity. All of which makes it an essential addition to our portfolio. And potentially, for yours.
An Evolving Data Platform for Your Evolving Data Ecosystem
With these new additions, Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform One offers an even more comprehensive, end-to-end data infrastructure experience, ideally suited to the needs of the hybrid cloud enterprise. By creating a unified, adaptable environment to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses, we’re helping usher in a new era of business innovation, efficiency and agility.
Thanks to a unified data plane that efficiently manages storage across diverse environments, data sources and applications – on prem, in the cloud or at the edge – VSP One stands apart, enabling organizations to focus on their core business objectives and less on the complexity and ever-growing volume and diversity of their data.
In addition to superior resilience and scalability, common benefits across the platform include:
- Simplified Data Management: Streamlines storage, replication and analytics, making it easier for businesses to manage their data.
- Enhanced Security: Provides robust data protection across all products, ensuring data safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Sustainable Mindset: Optimized for energy efficiency and designed to grow with your business needs, without compromising or sacrificing on performance.
All told, this makes VSP One a compelling choice for organizations looking to simplify their infrastructure, secure their data, and adopt more sustainable data practices.
VSP One: No Hassles, No Silos, No Limits
When we first announced Virtual Storage Platform One, we spoke to the overarching benefits of a single platform with virtually unlimited potential, promising no hassles, no silos and no limits. With the addition of new all-QLC flash and object solutions to our already impressive portfolio, we’re making good on that promise.
Working together with our customers and partners, we’re delivering on our goal of improving simplicity, sustainability and performance to meet the needs of the modern enterprise. Enabling them to move from clutter to clarity, with a platform that creates a data foundation that is flexible, intelligent, resilient, sustainable and trusted. A one-stop solution for organizations looking to modernize their data infrastructure, enabling seamless growth and enhanced performance.
And like I said earlier, we’re just getting started. Glad to have you aboard for the ride.
