The team

We are seeking a Specialist SDET & Quality Lead to join a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering team. In this role, you will lead & work with your scrum team to prototype, design, develop, and qualify software solutions. The Engineering team embraces a highly collaborative development model that requires deep development and test involvement from start to finish for each project.

Responsibilities

- Lead the Quality Engineering function for the entire engineering team

- Participate in creating, running, and maintaining white box & black box test suites to ensure regression coverage and software quality with a focus on automation

- Triage and document test failures, validate veracity of fixes and ensure new regression coverage as necessary

- Lead efforts and contribute to evolving the quality competency for the entire engineering team

- Contribute to evolving and advocating for quality best practices (for example: quality plans, test strategy, test case development, automation, test tools & technologies, etc.)

- Take ownership for and drive updates to a multitude of integration environments for development & qualification of our products/solutions

- Provide technical leadership through mentoring & coaching members of the engineering team

- Contribute to the design, development, deployment, and support scalable software solutions

- Contribute to and participate in reviews of functional specifications, technical designs, qualification plans

- Participate in reviews of business requirements

 

Education & Experience Requirements

- 8-10+ years of hands-on contribution in software engineering or equivalent related experience

- Experience testing scalable distributed software and complex products & solutions

- Database, networking, Linux knowledge

- Deep understanding of engineering processes (including Agile methodologies)

- Advanced problem-solving skills

- Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies

- Ability to ramp up on and take ownership for existing test framework, test causes, automation suites

- Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner

- Ability to influence and moderate technical discussions with the engineering team

- Tech savvy, detail oriented, and highly driven

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

- A genuine passion for ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions

- Relevant formal education, including BSCS or MSCS
